The Information Science Discussion Paper Series provides an opportunity for students and staff of the Department of Information Science to publish papers in a less formal manner than is required by journals and conferences. Papers submitted to the Series undergo editing but are not refereed. They often represent work to date and may not necessarily form the basis for the authors' final research conclusions. Many of the papers are preliminary versions of papers submitted to conferences or journals.
The Series is published on an irregular basis, and is mailed out to a large number of institutions around the world. Electronic versions of many papers are also available for download. If you would like to be placed on the Series mailing list, please contact the DPS Coordinator at one of the addresses given below.
Copyright of individual Discussion Papers remains with the authors. Permission to copy a Discussion Paper for research or teaching purposes is granted on the condition that the authors and the Series are given due acknowledgment. Reproduction in any form for purposes other than research or teaching is forbidden unless prior written permission has been obtained from the authors.
Authors would be pleased to receive correspondence in connection with any of the issues raised in their papers, or for subsequent publication details. Please write directly to the authors at the address provided below. Any other correspondence concerning the Series should be sent to the Discussion Paper Series Coordinator (email dps@infoscience.otago.ac.nz).
