  33. in planning and managing all tourist activities.
  34. An assessment of the three tiers of EIA established
  35. under the Protocol is presented. Potential
  36. solutions for assessing impacts of Antarctic
  37. tourism include adoption of strategic environmental
  38. assessment, regional assessments and
  39. environmental auditing. International best
  40. practice methods should be adopted in the initial
  41. environmental evaluation along with greater
  42. consistency of EIA application through indicative
  43. lists and guidelines, a dedicated database of
  44. Antarctic EIAs and increased cooperation in
  45. the EIA process between the tourism industry
  46. and Antarctic Treaty Consultative Parties that
